This diet is one of the so-called fast diets  that is based on the consumption of a certain food with the aim of multiplying the benefit of all the nutritional properties that said food gives us, in this case; the tuna .

The diet that we are going to discuss here is a so-called crash diet, it is a short-term diet, lasting 3 days , which will help us lose about 3 kilos quickly.

Being such a short diet, it is difficult for there to be any type of damage to health, we only find benefits, however, we never recommend following any diet without the consent of a medical professional or specialist and nutritionist.

First of all, we are going to investigate a little the reason for this diet and what are the properties and benefits that this fish, so rich and consumed in our country, will bring us and that is part of any balanced diet.

It is a very easy food to find in any supermarket or fishmonger and has an infinite number of ways in which it can be cooked, it is also available “canned” ( in sunflower oil, olive oil, natural, pickled, with tomato, etc. ), although it will always be more interesting to buy fresh fish .

What properties does this blue fish give us?

It is one of the most interesting oily fish on a nutritional level, it is not a very low-calorie fish, it contains approximately 10% fat but it is a healthy fat rich in  essential oils such as omega 3 and 6 that are attributed numerous properties.

These fatty acids protect us from cardiovascular diseases , helping to improve the health of our heart, arteries and blood circulation and, according to numerous studies, it also helps to keep our brain healthy.

In addition, tuna has a  high protein content, it is one of the most protein fish, a very important macronutrient for the proper functioning of our body, regeneration and maintenance of our muscles and nerves.

With regard to minerals,  potassium  and magnesium stand out, complementing the benefits of omega 3, taking care of our cardiovascular health .

Tuna is also a powerful antioxidant rich in  vitamins of group A and B .

For so many benefits , it is a food that is very useful for our body. Although it is true, it is not a low-calorie fish, but in turn numerous studies have shown that the fatty acids contained in tuna help reduce resistance to leptin (a hormone that facilitates weight loss ) and therefore we It can help speed up metabolism and burn fat faster .  

The best way to consume it is grilled or steamed because that way all its properties are preserved and although it is not so advisable, raw is also an option, as it is one of the main ingredients in sushi .

This diet is very simple as well as practical to lose a few kilos in a few days, but it is not a diet that must be maintained over time, as it is a crash diet.

The best thing about this tuna diet to lose weight in three days is that it is not essential to eat only tuna, as other types of diets suggest.

Example of the tuna diet : – To do it for 3 days you can alternate or modify said diet always based on the following example:

For breakfast

  • A piece of toasted bread with a slice of cooked ham or fresh cheese and 2 egg whites.
  • Coffee or infusion.

For the food

  • A green salad and a grilled tuna steak.
  • A yogurt or a piece of fruit.

For dinner

  • Some slices of tuna and some vegetables roasted in the oven al papillote.
  • 3 slices of pineapple.

At mid-morning and for a snack we can have a piece of fruit, preferably citrus fruits: (grapefruit, orange, mandarin, kiwi, pineapple, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries).

We can season with vinegar, lemon or spices to taste.

We will make changes to the dishes remembering that we will only consume tuna and vegetables, fruits and vegetables cooked on the grill or steamed.

The oil can only be used in salad or cooked vegetables, one tablespoon per serving.

We must eliminate fried foods, batters, sweets, precooked foods, sauces, etc.

We will consume two liters of water a day and we will try to combine it with regular exercise to make weight loss faster and more effective.

  • Do not prolong this diet for more than three days , as we must make it more balanced by consuming more food to nourish our body well.
