 Flash diet what does it consist of?

This diet called flash effect is based on a rapid weight loss and that does not make us regain the lost weight, that is, anti rebound effect . It is a diet in which allowed foods are progressively added according to how we progress through its phases.

In total, the diet does not have a specific duration since the phases are adjusted as we reach our ideal weight. Keep in mind that it is better to lose weight gradually so that we do not regain it.

Because it is a balanced diet, except for the first phase, which does have a certain duration, we can extend it in time until we achieve our ideal weight, without putting our health or the common development of our metabolic activity at risk.

The phases of the Flash diet

This diet has  several phases , the  first  will last 7 days, this phase is called  “higher protein”  but it does not mean that you only consume protein, but that most of the consumption is protein; but  not in its entirety  like other methods such as Dukan, which generates so much controversy.

Once the first stage is finished, we will begin to increase the allowed foods and reduce the amount of food we eat, the  second phase  is called  “weight control”  and it will last until you achieve your ideal weight. In this phase of the method, you will consume all kinds of food making a balanced diet, so there is no risk that it lasts over time.

Finally we will move on to the third  phase or weight consolidation , also called  “self-control”  which will be based on a weekly compensation of the diet. That is, you can afford to eat a prize as long as you maintain order and weight. In order to carry out this last phase, we will use the shock days method  .

What can I eat on the Flash diet?

– During the first week, the consumption of the following foods will be allowed:

All kinds of meat (lean parts) and fish , eggs, ham and serrano ham .

Vegetables: broccoli, green beans, cauliflower, carrot, peas, spinach, chard, bell pepper, onion, young and dried garlic, leek, zucchini, eggplant, artichokes, celery, mushrooms. Vegetables : lettuce of all kinds, lamb’s lettuce, arugula, tomato, cucumber, radishes.

Dairy Products : 0% skimmed yogurts, 0% skim whipped fresh cheese, skimmed cottage cheese, cottage cheese, skimmed milk.

Fruits : citrus, apple, pear, pineapple and kiwi.

Coffee, tea and natural juices of the aforementioned fruits.

During this week we will not consume rice, pasta, or legumes but only during the first week, from the second we will begin to regulate the consumption of these foods.

With regard to carbohydrates, it can be said that we do not eliminate them completely since we only allow a 50-gram toast in the morning that can be substituted for 30 grams of normal cereals.

Recommendations to carry out this diet:

  • Avoid the consumption  of sweets, prepared sauces, cream, fried and battered foods and all those  foods rich in fat .
  • We must avoid red meat, it is preferable to consume turkey and chicken, pork or beef only the lean parts and lamb only occasionally.
  • With regard to  sugar, it  is preferable to  replace it with a natural sweetener .
  • The oil, preferably we will use the extra virgin olive oil for its omega 3 content, but we must measure the quantities since otherwise we will consume excess calories. The oil used to cook food cannot exceed 2 tablespoons in each complete meal.
  • It is advisable to prepare the tea and infusions yourself since the ones they sell are usually very sugary.
  • We must regulate dairy consumption .  The yogurts we will choose the  skimmed 0% , the milk preferably skimmed. Cheeses, very strong or fermented  (Roquefort, Gorgonzola etc) are forbidden (if they are consumed it should be very occasionally) cured cheeses maximum 2 times a week in moderation. Burgos fresh cheese is ideal for this type of diet, since that we find it skimmed 0% low in fat. Cream is not allowed. There is also a 0% skimmed whipped fresh cheese that serves as a substitute for cream to prepare sauces. We can also use it with saccharin as a cream for desserts.
  • The  spices are free to use  as they do not provide calories and add flavor to our dishes.

  Menu – Second phase Flash diet

Once the first stage is finished, we will begin to increase the allowed foods and reduce the amount of food we eat. This phase is called  “weight control”  and will last until you achieve your ideal weight .

In this phase of the method, you will consume all kinds of food making a balanced diet, so there is no risk that it lasts over time.

During the second week, the consumption of the same foods as in the previous week will be allowed and with respect to the first week, the following foods will be introduced in this second:

– The consumption of rice, pasta and legumes. That we will regulate as follows: rice once a week as well as pasta and legumes as a single dish once a week and as a garnish once a week, preferably with food.

Third Phase – Consolidation

Finally, we will move on to the phase of weight consolidation, called ” self-control ” which will be based on a weekly compensation of the diet . That is, you can afford to eat a prize as long as you maintain order and weight. In order to carry out this last phase, we will use the shock days method.

During the third week, the consumption of all kinds of food is allowed, in its proper measure. To balance the consumption of calories we will compensate with the days of shock.

This menu is an example that you can modify to your liking, the important thing is that you combine an excess with a full day of shock or two shock dinners, as you prefer.

If you eat some sweets, as a reward for your effort, make use of shocks to compensate for your excesses.
