The high water content makes us keep our body hydrated; which contributes to a correct elimination of waste substances, and also helps the body to develop its metabolic activity effortlessly. Although it seems contradictory, a shortage of water causes fluid retention because the body stores the little amount of fluid it has. Therefore, we usually choose foods with diuretic properties .

It is very important that food is easy to digest, that it does not involve much effort for the body to have to assimilate its nutrients to obtain the energy it needs.

The protein foods are usually foods common in this type of diet, although we also find low – carb foods that we provide lots of vitamins and minerals.
